The Strawberry Point Ambulance Service provides emergency medical care within a 4 county area working together with Volga, Dundee, Aurora and Lamont First Responders. Our service area includes Volga, Littleport, Strawberry Point, Dundee, Lamont, Aurora and Backbone State Park. We provide regular coverage during sporting activities at Starmont Community Schools as well as Heritage Days at Osborne Nature Center and the Clayton County Fair. Our team of EMTs, Paramedics, Registered Nurses and drivers respond to an average of 200 calls per year. We maintain 2 ambulances and each provider and driver maintain current certifications in CPR, Emergency Driving, mandatory child and elder abuse reporting, ACLS, PALS as well as continuing education which is based on the certification level. Our members are volunteers who live and work within the City of Strawberry and some of our crew members are CPR instructors and EMS educators. We are always looking for dedicated volunteers so if you have an interest in joining the ambulance service you can contact any of the members and they'll steer you in the right direction.
